I’m married to the love of my life, have 3 pretty princesses who keep me on my tippy-toes and 2 spoiled pups. Day 13 ♥ Shakedown Journal

So today I talked to a few friends who’ve been shakin’ and I’m so excited! Everyone’s feeling better and are so happy with how fast they are seeing results! The best part, everyone says, is the fact that they aren’t hungry and that’s what I love. My body is getting everything it needs nutritionally and it allows me to focus on everything else that’s going on in life instead of what my next meal is going to be.

I remember the days where I would be done with one meal and after I was done I was already planning my next meal and what restaurant I was going to eat at and the dessert I was going to have. I seriously didn’t realize how much I focused on food and how much it took away from my life.

The shakedown was my introduction to the Fat Flush way of life and I thank God every day that I found this amazing program. I can’t even imagine what direction my life would be going in if I didn’t “clean” up my act! Best part has been that it is so easy! They do all the thinking for you! All you have to do is follow the guide. I also encourage everyone to read the Fat Flush Plan or Fat Flush for Life. Those books are life changing!

Day 12 ♥ Shakedown Journal

Today, I went to check out a salon I was wanting to work at and it’s an hour away so I packed my “on-the-go” kit and… Totally left it!!! I couldn’t believe it. I never do that! But lucky for me I had already taken my supplements and had my smoothie. With this being done, it only leaves me with the “what do you do when you go out to eat?” question that I get so often!

Subway is probably my favorite ‘fast food’ choice. They have chicken breast that hasn’t been season and they don’t use oils to cook it. You can also get any sandwich made into a salad so I order the salad with all spinach, then you can add whatever veggies you would like! Then I just squeeze my salad with lemon wedges. Made for a yummy lunch!

As for going out to eat, I have been able to eat out everywhere. I just always order my veggies dry and make sure my meat is cooked with no seasoning. Red Lobster has the “Wood Grill” options that are amazing! Also Claim Jumpers has a gluten-free menu that you can order from. Everywhere I have been has been very courteous. Just remember this is your health! Eating healthy can be done at restaurants. Where the bad stuff comes in is the dressings (ask for lemon wedges instead or bring your own FF Dressing) or the sauces and seasoning they put on everything. With you shakin’, your taste buds are changing and food just starts to taste so much better in its natural state! I remember the first time I ate something seasoned after shakin’. I was so surprised at how…not so great it was. And it used to be my favorite! I was amazed. Plus, I never realized how putting all that extra stuff on my food was affecting me.

Day 11 ♥ Journal
The week is in full swing and I am so happy I do all my prep on Sunday! It was a life saver! Everyone know crazy weekdays can get!I made the Beef and Veggie Shepherds Pie and everything was already done! Prepping beforehand will save you a lot of time and help you not stress. (Then we can’t use the excuse that cooking healthy takes too long. It just takes a little extra preparation and it’s sooo worth it!) Eating a healthy meal and taking that little but extra time helps me appreciate this lifestyle so much. Whenever I don’t take the time to prep and I try to take those short cuts, I never feel as good afterwards. We have to take care of ourselves.

Day 10 ♥ JournalI always use Sunday as my “Prep” day. Especially when I know I have a busy week because I really don’t want to be coming home and spend time preparing dinner. Having everything ready to go makes life so much easier! So, I plan out my meals for the week and do my prep work. Chopping onion, cilantro, garlic or whatever else I may need for the week ahead!I also spent part of the day zesting and juicing lemons. My husband’s co-worker has a lemon tree and is always bringing us huge bags of lemons. When my husband first started bringing them home I was thinking, “What am I supposed to do with all those?!” Sure, I love my lemons and their benefits just as much as the next person, but I only use 1 lemon a day! haha Well I was going through some blogs and I found this helpful tip for lemon quick-use! Zest lemons and save the zest (I freeze some and dry some), then juice the lemons into ice trays and freeze. Each cube is equal to 1/2 lemon squeezed so I just through a “lemon cube” in my Hot Lemon Toddy in the morning! Day 9 ♥ Shakedown JournalSo it’s the weekend! Yay! Makes ‘Shakin’ a bit easier. I got asked today how I keep track of my drinks and everything. I keep super busy so I just had to find a way to make the Shakedown and Fat Flush life style work for me. I have been doing it for awhile now but when I try to take short cuts, I sure forget to do my drinks! I’ve had those days where I didn’t start my day off with my lemon water and Green Life Cocktail and I can always tell a huge difference! I LOVE lists! At the very bottom of this blog is a picture of my morning list- I just check it as I go! Plus, I keep a journal. It holds you accountable and you can also look back to see what worked for you a what didn’t.There isn’t an ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to getting healthy. We are all coming from different stages and circumstances in our lives. Before I started fat flushing I was very unhealthy. I made poor choices in my diet and I had extremely bad habits. Day 8 ♥ Shakedown JournalOne of the questions I often get is, “What do you do when you go to a party or event?”. Well, honestly I go about my day as I usually do just with a little bit more planning and I make sure my Will Power Muscle is charged! It just so happens my day today was a good example.I woke up a few minutes earlier then I usually do because I knew I had a full day! I had Maid of Honor duties in which I was supporting the bride & groom in their cake tasting adventure for their wedding (Yikes!). I also was doing hair and had a birthday party to attend (Oh boy!).So this morning I planned accordingly. When I made my smoothie for the day, I made enough for 2 and put the extra in my “on-the-go kit” (mentioned in Day 3’s blog). I also made sure I had all my snacks and water. For the party, I found out what they were serving and knew I could make it Shakedown friendly so I didn’t worry about eating before-hand. If you’re going to a party that won’t have a Shakedown friendly menu, eat before you go so you won’t be hungry and tempted. The biggest tip I can give you is, “Set yourself up to succeed!”I’m sure you’re wondering if I tried a bite of cake, huh?! The answer is, No…I didn’t. But it sure looked amazing! Temptation is always around, but I’m not a fan of starting over. Been there, done that! I also have found though ‘Fat Flushing’, that refined sugar and I are not friends. One bite gets my heart racing overtime…Not a good feeling. When I knew this “cake tasting” event was coming, the first thing that popped into my head was, “You know you are a fat flusher when…People ask you why you don’t eat cake, you answer, ‘I’m cleansing my liver’. ” (pg. 133 from Fat Flush for Life). If I’ve learned anything from Ann Louise it’s that your liver is your body’s purifier!  Something that also helps make my journey a bit easier is that I’m very blessed to have a very supportive group of friends and family around that respect my choices.Another question I get asked is if I ever feel like I’m missing out. Honestly, since day one I have never felt deprived. I have learned so much about my own body it makes my choices pretty easy. Yes, some days are tougher then others. Everyone has their weaknesses.  Just remember: “Will power is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets!”
