Day 7 ♥ Shakedown Journal
I’m through my 1st week of the Shakedown and I’m feeling fantastic!!! I’ve lost a total of 6 lbs so far and still have another week to go! I’m so excited to see what this next week will bring!Today I woke up bright and early. I’m a big fan of how easy it is to get up! I remember before I started fat flushing, what a struggle the mornings were. It took literally everything I had to get up, get the kids ready, take them to school and I couldn’t get home fast enough to get back to sleep. Thank God I am not that person anymore. I was missing out on so much! Now I have the energy to get through my day and then some! It is really the best feeling ever and luckily I had all that energy today!I’m sure lots of you watch the ‘Biggest Loser’; my husband and I are fans of the show. Every week they have a theme and this weeks theme was: “I don’t have any self control.” This one is close to my heart because all through my journey people have told me, “you can stop for this one meal” or “just start back up after the holidays” or “come on…just try a bite”. But for me, that one little bite and the “I’ll wait til after that holidays” mentality what got me to where I was! I love my body now and it’s the only one I have so I want to take care of it! To me, putting something in my body that isn’t good for it is like dumping a trashcan in the middle of your living room!You are bigger then your cravings! So when one of those pesky cravings hits, drink a glass of cran-water and grab a healthy snack. Then go do something to take your mind of it!  I guarantee that craving will go away and then…YOU WIN!In order to be successful, we have to first change the way we think.

Day 6 ♥ Shakedown JournalToday I was flipping through the Shakedown Guide and realized, I’ve been fat flushing for 7 months and I have never made the Shakedown Seasoning! What is wrong with me!? So of course I had to make it. I must say, I have been missing out! It is so tasty! If you haven’t made it yet I highly recommend that you do! Tonight,  I had it sprinkled on my salad and it was deelish! I think tomorrow I am going to use it to grill up some shrimp! Yum!I felt super good today because I could tell my pants were fitting a bit looser again! Yippee! Isn’t that the best feeling?! I love how good I feel and I can definitely tell a huge difference in my energy levels.  I am so glad to be getting back into the swing of things! I can tell such a positive difference in my over all well-being.Also when I was out and about, I bought a new pair of “goal” shorts! I’ve always wanted to be able to wear a cute pair of white shorts for summer. Random maybe?! But it keeps me motivated.  I love setting goals and it always feels so empowering when they are reached! When my “goal” jeans were fitting me loose it was such an amazing feeling of accomplishment. I never thought I would make it that far and here I am surpassing my goals. Day 5 ♥ Shakedown Journal

So I told myself I wouldn’t do it… But I did… I got on the scale. But much to my surprise I have dropped 5 lbs! Whoop Whoop! I’m just 1 lb away from being where I was! I didn’t expect to lose the weight that quickly but what can I say? Those pounds don’t stand a chance against the Shakedown! I was also on the Shakedown Facebook page and saw so many other people having great success! That always puts a smile on my face! I absolutely love seeing other people succeed!

Today, I decided to try the Baked Chicken and Artichoke Casserole my husband had picked out of the Fat Flush Cookbook. One of the ingredients was the 1-2-3 Chicken Broth. I’ve never made chicken broth before and was a little worried. Much to my surprise it was super easy! Just dropped the chicken, veggies, and spices in and WA-LA! Homemade chicken broth! It made a ton, so I have some in the freezer and kept a little container in the fridge. Plus have chicken for tomorrows meal! And the casserole was a huge hit! One of my favorite FF recipes so far!

My tip for today is to set achievable goals and celebrate your victories! I thought I would share a couple of goals and rewards I have for myself.

Goal: Complete 2 week shakedown
Reward: New dress for Vegas trip!

Goal: Run 1/2 marathon
Reward: Beach trip!

Goal: 1 inch off my thighs
Reward: New workout pants!

Day 4 ♥ Shakedown Journal

I was reading Dr. Ann Louise’s Facebook page and realized I haven’t been doing my apple cider vinegar drinks! So I decided to add them back into my daily routine (minus the honey while I’m “shakin”). I love this addition to my daily beverage menu! It’s a nice little pick-me-up. Check out her Facebook page— you will be getting great advice from the doctor herself!

I was home today for lunch and decided to eat my leftover meatballs. I love how versatile the shakedown is. You don’t always have to have a smoothie in the morning and for lunch. Change it up a bit! Don’t be afraid to get creative! I know if you were like me when I very first started, you have a million questions and are worried you are going to do something to mess it up. Make sure to read and trust your shakedown guide! It has all the info you need! I carried that guide with me everywhere. Also make sure you “like” the Smoothie Shakedown on Facebook. So, today I surprisingly woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed! Went to bed a little later then I usually do, but I was up before my alarm! Today I had to go grocery shopping and one little trick I’ve learned is to be prepared and make sure you’re not shopping on a hungry tummy! Everything looks more appealing when your tummy is talking to you as you go through the forbidden aisles of the supermarket!

Just a little background, I live in a small mountain town and have to travel an hour away to do my grocery shopping. So being prepared is the best way to go and is your key to success! My mom and I always travel with our little homemade Fat Flush on-the-go kits.

My on-the-go kit includes:

Thermal Travel Bag
Vitamins for the day
(1-2) Hard Boiled Eggs
Veggies or a Salad
Lemon wedges
Approved piece of fruit
FF Salad dressing
*Extra shake if I know I am going to be gone for lunch

Set yourself up for success by taking a moment to pack your own kit! If I know I have a busy day with doing hair, grocery shopping, volunteering or whatever it might be, I always wake up a few minutes earlier to get my drinks in and pack my kit! Those days I neglect to do so, I very much want to kick myself in the shin! Trust me, it’s a little extra work, but worth it! Take time for yourself. Every morning I make breakfast for my husband and kids, plus get the kids ready for school. Most of us do so much for the people we love, we forget to take care of ourselves! Just think, if you aren’t feeling good or taking care of yourself, how will that affect the people around you? Just some food for thought!

Day 1 ♥ Shakedown Food Journal

I have been living the Fat Flush lifestyle for about 7 months now. The smoothies are my favorite part and I have continued to have one everyday even as I have moved through the phases. They are just the perfect way to start my day! The shakes give me so much energy and I just feel fantastic knowing I’m giving my body something delicious and healthy! I decided to go back on the Smoothie Shakedown for 2 weeks for a couple reasons.

For one, I found out I had a bunch of friends starting or in the process of doing the Shakedown! I had no idea so many people were taking that first step to better health! So of course I wanted to be there for encouragement and be right along side them on their journey. Secondly, I needed it for myself!!! I just did my 1st 10K race February 12th and for a few weeks I was adding in extra friendly carbs to my diet… This however moved the notches up my scale quit a bit… I wasn’t paying attention to what I was consuming (which is why is is soo important to keep a journal!) but when I weighed myself the day after my run “YIKES” and “Oh, it’s shakedown time!” came out of my mouth! Haha 🙂 Plus, I was feeling a bit bloated and my jeans were fitting a little snug… A feeling I had not experienced in quite some time! So thankfully, I have Ann Louise and her amazing plan! That is what I love about this program, I have been given the tools to get back on track and exceed my goals! So here we go! We can do this together!

2 cups cran-water
1 scoop Body Protein Powder
1 serving frozen blueberries
1 tbsp flax oil
1 tbsp chia seed
(I like to add extra cran-water and use frozen berries.)
