Day 8: Nikole’s Shakedown Journal

Hey there, fellow —and future— fat flushers! My name is Nikole and I’m going to be taking you along on my fat flushing adventure! I hope that my journals help you to become as passionate as I am about this life changing plan. And for those wondering, it doesn’t just help you lose weight. Yes, that’s an amazing benefit! But your overall health is the important thing here! There is a Fat Flush Plan for everyone! Let me start by introducing myself.

I’m married to the love of my life, have 3 pretty princesses who keep me on my tippy-toes and 2 spoiled pups. I’m a daughter, sister, and friend. I volunteer at my daughters’ school and work as a hair stylist. I love making women feel beautiful! I love the outdoors, working hard and I hope to inspire others with my story. What you see is what you get! I’m an everyday person, running kids around, trying to keep a clean house and juggling a million things at once! So far on my journey, I have lost over 50 lbs and I am the healthiest I have ever been with the Fat Flush way of life. So yes, YOU CAN do it too! Being busy is an excuse I used for many years. As Thomas Jefferson said, “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” Take that first step to becoming the new and improved you, and feel the best you have ever felt!

The most common questions I get are, “How did you do it?”, “What do you eat?”,  “How do you do it being a wife and a mom?” and “What do you do when you go out of town or out to eat?” These are questions that I am going to be answering as I take you through my day to day life! Day 8 ♥ Shakedown JournalOne of the questions I often get is, “What do you do when you go to a party or event?”. Well, honestly I go about my day as I usually do just with a little bit more planning and I make sure my Will Power Muscle is charged! It just so happens my day today was a good example.I woke up a few minutes earlier then I usually do because I knew I had a full day! I had Maid of Honor duties in which I was supporting the bride & groom in their cake tasting adventure for their wedding (Yikes!). I also was doing hair and had a birthday party to attend (Oh boy!).So this morning I planned accordingly. When I made my smoothie for the day, I made enough for 2 and put the extra in my “on-the-go kit” (mentioned in Day 3’s blog). I also made sure I had all my snacks and water. For the party, I found out what they were serving and knew I could make it Shakedown friendly so I didn’t worry about eating before-hand. If you’re going to a party that won’t have a Shakedown friendly menu, eat before you go so you won’t be hungry and tempted. The biggest tip I can give you is, “Set yourself up to succeed!”I’m sure you’re wondering if I tried a bite of cake, huh?! The answer is, No…I didn’t. But it sure looked amazing! Temptation is always around, but I’m not a fan of starting over. Been there, done that! I also have found though ‘Fat Flushing’, that refined sugar and I are not friends. One bite gets my heart racing overtime…Not a good feeling. When I knew this “cake tasting” event was coming, the first thing that popped into my head was, “You know you are a fat flusher when…People ask you why you don’t eat cake, you answer, ‘I’m cleansing my liver’. ” (pg. 133 from Fat Flush for Life). If I’ve learned anything from Ann Louise it’s that your liver is your body’s purifier!  Something that also helps make my journey a bit easier is that I’m very blessed to have a very supportive group of friends and family around that respect my choices.Another question I get asked is if I ever feel like I’m missing out. Honestly, since day one I have never felt deprived. I have learned so much about my own body it makes my choices pretty easy. Yes, some days are tougher then others. Everyone has their weaknesses.  Just remember: “Will power is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets!”
