Yummy Yam Chips

Course: Snacks

Ingredients
  

  • 2 small yams cut into 1/8-inch slices
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  2. In a plastic bag, place yam slices, herbs, and onion powder; shake to coat.
  3. Place the yams on a lined baking sheet, in a single layer.
  4. Bake until yam slices are slightly golden and crisp, about 45 minutes, turning at least once.

 

*Watch the yams closely while in the oven so they don’t burn.

Variations: Try using different spice combinations such as…
– ½ teaspoon ground anise and ½ teaspoon fennel
– ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon and 1 packet of Stevia
– ¼ teaspoon onion powder, ¼ teaspoon ginger, ¼ teaspoon cumin

– Phase 3: sprinkle with salt, to taste
